MISC - 10 ways on how to relief your stress and Feel better

1 May 2006 One Comment

StressWe all have stress. Sometimes I feel that if you set your goal, you take action, and then you will start feeling the stress. We set goal for us because we wish the goal can give some stress and force us to keep taking action. So having stress is normal, but don’t know how to relief it is abnormal.

Elizabeth Scott from About.com suggest 10 ways to relief our stress and make ourselves feeling better. We will work at full performance if we are feeling the best.

Here is the list :

  1. Breathing Exercises - good for our body, wake up our brain, relaxing muscles and calm down our mind. Karate Breathing Meditation is a great exercise to start with.
  2. Meditation - A step further of deep breathing. When you are meditate your brain enters an area of functioning that’s similar to sleep but carries some added benefits you can’t achieve as well in any other state.
  3. Guided Imagery - It takes slightly more time to practice guided imagery Another way to relax your body. Soe found that it is easier to practice than meditation as lots of us ifnd it more doable to focus on ‘something’ than on ‘nothing’.
  4. Visualizations - Building on guided imagery, you can also imagine yourself achieving goals like becoming healthier and more relaxed, doing well at tasks and so much more.
  5. Self-hypnosis - Self hypnosis incorporates some of the features of guided imagery and visualizations, with added benefits of enabling you to communicate directly with your subconscious mind to enhance your abilities.
  6. Massage - By tensing and relaxing all the muscle groups in your body, you can relieve tension and feel much more relaxed in minutes.
  7. Progressive Muscle Relaxation - By tensing and relaxing all the muscle groups in your body, you can relieve tension and feel much more relaxed in minutes.
  8. Sex - Sex is a great tension reliever. Sadly, many people have less sex when their stress levels are high.
  9. Music - When dealing with stress, the right music can actually lower your blood pressure, relax your body and calm your mind.
  10. Yogo - One of the self-improvement practices around. It combine several other stress management techniques such as breathing, meditation, imagery and movement. Giving you lost of benefits.

Personally, I like massage and music. I never try breathing and other imagination treatment. I think I should give it a try. Oh, last but not least, I also found that sleeping is another way to relief the stress, because everyday when I wake up, I will forget all the tension and focus for the new day. J
