Thanks to Darrell Zahorsky from About.com remind me that I should take 5 minute to test my brochure design. I’m helping my mentor to run his business, so from time to time, I will involve in brochure designing for our company marketing plan. Every time after I finish the design, I never look back to my brochure and carry on with my other works. But I know it is worth to have a look and feel how strong is my brochure after reading Darrel’s article.

ÂÂ

So today I’m going to share his article in my blog here and below is the main point of the article:

ÂÂ

  1. 5:00 Appeal to emotion - how your brochure can raise the buying emotion of customers.
  2. 4:00 Be Professional - What market you want to attack and design your brochure to approach them. Experience tell me that professional brochure don’t work with customers who look for low price.
  3. 3:40 Be Personal - Customers like to buy from people who can connect with them personally.
  4. 3:00 Achieve Readability - I bet you never read a brochure that full of words that hardly to read, don’t you?
  5. 2:30 Speak the language - Use simple language in your brochure. The point here is letting your customer understand what you trying to pass through your brochure.
  6. 2:00 Lead with benefits - Customers don’t care what features and how good is your product but they care about their benefits.
  7. 1:20 Have a single message - Think and pass a message to your customers in brochure.
  8. 0:50 Focus on a Product or service - Don’t and never make your customers confuse with your catalog brochure. Simple always works the best.
  9. 0:20 Make an Action call - Remember to leave some contact information such as telephone no, emails or web site.

ÂÂ

Remember always double check your brochure before sending out because your brochure is representing your company.
