I have side income that I derive from my blog. That’s it for me as I have NO TIME for anything else.

Here are my sources of extra income:

1. Free Money Finance blog
2. Personal finance articles for magazines
3. Speaking (only one time per year)
4. Do investments count?

I sometimes sell stuff on E-bay, but besides that, no.

I would like to figure out a way to make extra cash, so I’m very interested in seeing other’s responses.

Yes - I do the following:

1) Sell vintage clothing on my web boutique http://www.pooryork.com
2) Sell more vintage and non-vintage clothing on eBay
3) Blog referrals and ads
4) Doing market research surveys/focus group sessions - usually, they pay between $50 - $200 for a couple hours of you sharing your opinion! You can look them up on Craigslist.org under the Job section in “Etc.”

Does doing Pinecone surveys count? And then the little bit that comes from my blog, I guess.

Right now because of lack of time I only sell stuff through ebay, but I have an online biz and do freelance web design, which have also been my source of “mad money!”

I also have two vague dreams for side work the future: writing fiction, and selling decorated cookies! The first I’m actively (though slowly) moving towards, the second may always be an idle fantasy….

Yes, I have side income. I have 22 rental units and am constantly seeking other residual side income opportunities.

Currently, I believe the internet (e-commerce, blogging, or other innovations) will be great ways to create residual, long tail, and/or side income in the future. Some will make millions others just spending money.

We all need to consider this side income. People I know who have significant retirement assets are planning these side business’s for their golden years. Their primary reason is to keep themselves involved.

1) We have a rental property which is $200 cash positive. Not a ton, but hey it’s better than negative:)
2) My husband sells/trades/gives away things on craigslist daily.
3) My husband sometimes ushers shows at a local concert venue that pays about $25-30 per show. (Plus he gets to see his favorite bands!)
4) I have taught yoga classes in the past and hope to do so again in the future.
5) My husband also gets extra cash from doing market research/focus groups.

My side income comes from teaching personal finance classes, other speaking fees, and cd/dvd sales of my materials. I am also working on a book.

My wife makes pretty good money from selected ads she allows on her blog. She also does a few magazine articles per year. Her friends and I are trying to convince her to write a book. She’s had several requests but has turned them all down.

We get side income from a partnership we’re in that funds short-term commercial loans, and we have a couple other loan-related things we invest in. Our near-term goal is to generate enough income from these types of investments to cover our living expenses - we’re about 75% there.

I have several side sources of income:

Freelance Tech Writing/Web Design
Ebay
Answering Surveys and e-mails at a number of different sites.
Occassional Amazon.com referrals

I tend to be the odd ball out. I don’t receive a work pay check per se. In addition to my expenses (which are covered passively right now) I have earned over and above each month- here are somethings I have done this year: Jan-Feb $2000 sold stuff, saved $, and got paid from sale of last business put all into another business, March $500 from event I helped organize, April-May $1800 PR/website/blog for a client, JUne $5000 flipping a real estate contract, July sold car for $5000 (bought for $4300) and turned around and bought another car for $5300 (can sell for $6000), starting July $1000 a month to blog for a client. I’ve done all these things as a stay at home mom. I just wanted to share to give others some ideas as well!

Only from investments and the rental house. Does birthday money from Grandma count? :-)

Star Money Articles for the Week of August 14…

Here are interesting posts and news this week from the MoneyBlogNetwork members and beyond: AllFinancialMatters discusses money and happiness. MightyBargainHunter lists fifteen easy ways to save fifteen bucks. Five Cent Nickel had a Home Depot applianc…

Well, since I don’t have a paycheck,
I guess all my money is “side” money.

I got talked into a contract gig
(was supposed to be only a month long
but got extended…sigh).
Normally it’s investment income for me.

I blog and write novels.
Do that for fun rather than money.

1) I have side income from my blog. (not much)
2) I used to have a side job on Sundays. (for fun and for a discount on my hobby)
3) I will occaisionally babysit and accept money from my friends, even if I tell them I’ll do it for free.

At this point trading and investing are making me about as much as my salary. Other than that occasionally I do some reviews of books for publishers or examine a PhD thesis for a few hundred bucks. I do it to be nice rather than make money.

1. I have a second part time job.
2. I blog, do surveys and focus groups
3. I occasionally pick up freelance publishing work (editing, indexing, etc)
4. I very occasionally get a consulting gig but that’s pretty rare
5. Would like to have more writing income (novels, freelance articles) but not sure if I’ll ever get there

I do freelance design work, occasionally.

I wrote and illustrated an ebook which I market online. It generates roughly $75-$100 each month. I thought this would be very hands off once it was produced (and generally speaking, it is hands off) but to really increase the sales I’d have to put a lot more time and energy into it. For now, that small amount covers my cell phone bill so its a wash.

My additional income comes mainly from investments. I am working on creating another source of income based on software.

I have many sources of side income. I earn income from various web sites. I sell stuff on eBay. I have a small computer consulting business (I repair computers, maintain networks, and build web sites). Once a year I host a profitable garage sale. I’ve always got other ideas brewing, too. :)

Next month I graduate college, so I have no income at the moment. I have been supported by my parents and was lucky enough to not have to worry about getting a part time job to support myself. As far as side income I
1) Write for DVGuru.com, which pays more than I thought it would.
2) With more time after school I hope to get more involved with my photography -> http://kingkool6.deviantart.com/store
3) A photography book?
4) I have some website ideas but I doubt they will make money. They are like calculators and lack content for ad-sense.
5) eBay will come in handy for selling old stuff.

No, unfortunately…I have to think of some…hmmmm…

Forgot to mention I sold a Winnebago for some friends- made $1000. lol

I sell paintings on the side but my real job is being a homemaker. My husband works fulltime outside the home.

I freelance on the side. My employer isn’t really about it, but the money is great.

1) My website income has grown far beyond any expectations I had at the outset. (Although my expectations were mostly zero.)
2) Paid surveys, when available.
3) Day-Job-related consulting.
4) Occasional articles for financial newsletters (I’m paid in books and site traffic. See Item #1.)

1. Website
2. eBay
3. Yard Sales
4. Speaking Engagements…

1. Shares
2. Rental Property
3. Blog - Thanks for adding me to your Blogroll!

I fully agree with Spencer Hill. We definitely need to consider making residual online income and that’s exactly what I’m working on at the moment.

And way to go stay-at-home-mum (aka prlinkbiz) - making money and not actually working for a paycheck! Respect :)

- A little from the blog and a few other sites
- More and more from magazine articles…like to make that increase even faster & turn freelancing into a second career, while keeping my first one.
- A little bit from consulting. I used to do more of that, but the demand / reward ratio wasn’t worth it with respect to my time.

Blogging, and partnership in a couple of businesses.

I’m always on the alert for additional incomes. Right now I’d say that 99.5% of my money comes from my standard paycheck. I have a couple of other sources, like interest on investments, and my blog, but they aren’t really at the point of amounting to much. Well my retirement accounts are building upwards, but it’s not really something that I can count as income at this point.

I mainly make cash from affiliate programs and seo!

I absolutely love it..

thats IMHO

Sincerely, THE SEO Expert
