So are you ready for the short term pain in exchange for the long term pleasure?

How to Have More Money?

I believe this is one of the hot questions that most people will ask in their mind. Everyone of us wishes to have more money each month so we can pay off our debt faster. Good news is you can do this! But Bad news is you have to sacrifice something.

Below are some ideas that you can use to have more money each month without too much sacrifice.

Food for less

Aside from mortgage, food is the biggest expenses in our family budget. So food for less is the first step that we can take to save up some extra money to pay off our debt. There are a lot of ways to save money from food expenses, here are a few examples:

  • Stop eating outside – Yes, it might be easy, convenience and good to have a meal outside. Good service, nice food and nice environment to eat. However, this will make you end up paying extra for the service charges, food and even tips.
  • Don’t buy frozen meals – If you really pay attention on the frozen meals, you will know that you are actually paying more for the less food. Well, in reality, you have to pay for the service of preparing the meals for you.
  • Eat Less and eat healthier. You can reduce your food and eat less. Generally, eat less is good for our body and it also good for our finance too.
  • Compare supermarket.  Last but not least is comparing the food price within several supermarkets and look for the good deals. Although I don’t really recommend this as it really takes a lot of time, but this is definitely a good way to save money.

Change Your Lifestyle

Spending money is a habit and it is related to our life. So if you want to really save money, then you have to change your lifestyle by reducing those unwanted expenses. Here are a few examples that you can try:

  • Prepare your lunch box. The theory is same with stop eating outside. You can prepare your lunch box overnight or in the morning and bring it to your office. This not only can help you to save money but also good for your body as it is healthier than outside food.
  • Buy on sales or even used. You have to change your mindset. If you really want to buy some shirts, then buy it when it in sales . If you want to buy a new gadget such as handphone, make sure you have a look on those used products. You can easily save 10-20% from this.
  • Use public transport. Oil price is getting higher than ever before. You can spend a lot of money in petrol if you always drive your car around. If condition allowed, try public transport. In fact, it is very convenience too.
  • Save on coffee breaks and snack. Well, I think drinking and eating too much of coffee and snacks is not good. You can reduce these expenses if you can. Besides that, you also can make your body healthier by having a healthier eating habit.

Travel on Budget

I love travel and nobody can stop me from it. Furthermore, sometime we need some break to relax our body and mind, so that we can walk a longer journey.  If you plan for holiday, you can:

  • Travel in short distance. You can travel around your town or those hot spots that near you.
  • Travel in off-peak season. With good planning for your holiday, you can travel in the off-peak season. I can tell you that you will save up a lot on the accommodation and transport.
  • Buy travel package on sales. Again this is the time you can search for the good deals for your holiday.
