- Set a goal and make a plan. First you must set a goal, a financial goal. Then make a plan or budget to achieve it. Besides that you must write them down on a piece of paper and stick it with you or attach it in places that you always look at. I suggest you put in your pocket or wallet. So each time you open your wallet, you can read your goal and remind yourself what you should do.
- Cut or store up all your credit cards. As I said just now, credit card is a great tool for you to shop compulsively and it can make your shopping desire grows stronger and stronger. So stop using them and this will limit your buying power and of course your buying habits.
- Start using limited cash. Use cash to buy things that you need. However, you have to limit the amount. You can just take a certain amount of money out of your bank account and spend it. Never take out all your money because too much cash on your hands will increase your buying desire.
- Stop visiting shopping center and web sites. Stop visiting those shopping centers especially web sites. Stop watching those shopping channel on TV too. - Rewards. No, you are not going to buy anything as your rewards. Instead, you should let yourself feel it and praise yourself that you can take the actions and fight your shopping desire. You will feel that you are strong and successfully because you can control yourself, your emotion, your desire and etc. You should be happy and exciting with all this.
