What does it mean to your online revenue when people click on the Google Ads less often?

Google

For every people who want to make money from internet will know what Google Ads or Adsense is. In fact, Google Ads helps million of people make their living from the internet and a small group of people even get rich because of it. This is why Google Ads appears to be one of the hottest online money making opportunity in the past few years.

Many people recommend beginners to get started with Google Ads because it is the easiest way to make money online. However, if you are going to try out the Google Ads or you already make money from it, then you have to pay attention to this article because…..

Google Paid Clicks Dropped!

According to The Economist Magazine, a research firm called ComScore, reported that Google’s Paid Clicks had decreased 7% during January 2008. That means surfers are clicking slightly less on those little text advertisement that appear in many sites.

This message also means that the online revenue for some people is dropping! I think this has alerted many online Publishers who are making money from Google Ads.

Why This Happen?

There are a lot of factors involved that are making Google Paid Clicks drop such as Google’s Policy Changing, Advertisers Selection, Quality of Ads, Economy factors etc.

However, after reading the news, one idea comes to my mind.

Do you think that surfers like you and I are too familiar with those little ads and that make us never click on it anymore?

This might be the reason this has happen. Google Ads have appeared on the internet for so many years that it is becoming more and more known as more and more people are recommended to make money from it.

Naturally, we don’t like to see ads. So once we know something is advertisement, we rarely click or pay attention to it. This is why banner ads don’t get the same results as before. Now the effect might happen on Google Ads.

Of course, there are exceptions like:

  • The advertisement is showing what we want, so we click on it to find out more
  • The publisher really branded the advertisements with their site perfectly until people cannot spot it is an ads and click on it.

However, above exceptions are hardly happening anymore.

Anyway, I believe Google is going to do something on this as it can affect their share price. So let’s see the new revolution in PPC (pay per click) market.

Guess the bubble had to burst eventually, when you see the amount of AdSense scraper sites out there it is no wonder.

AdSense ads seem to be going down a similar vein the banner ads due to massive over abuse, however I do not think that they will ever stop.

If used properly and placed to aid the viewer then people do not suffer the blindness and results can still be good IMO.

Lots more ad based revenue opportunities are available now, Google are responding and will be back..

My adsense revenue on several sites dropped quite a lot this month, not sure if it’s due to global problems or just Google is serving lower quality ads than before.

I occasionally click on ads on other sites, sometimes they have something interesting to offer.

      Hi The Shark Investor,

My Adsense revenue on this blog has dropped since the first day Google changes its policy on “clickable area” on the ads.

I suspect, if we want to survive from Adsense revenue, we have to receive even more traffics in order to increase the “click” on the ads. Sound like it is getting hard to earn money from Adsense

I am definitely trying to add other income streams, Harisson. Depending on Adsense entirely is scary at least.

      Hi The Shark Investor,

I agree with you. By the way, one of the benefits of making money online is you can have multiple income generated from 1 web site. This is why I love online business.

adsense showed me that making money online was possible but the real money is in affiliate marketing. I make 10x more money in affiliate marketing with the same effort than I ever did with my most traffic’d adsense site.

great pick on the theme btw.
